Chris Wright
The Rev. Dr. Christopher J. H. Wright (Chris to his friends!) grew up in Belfast and studied for his doctorate in Cambridge in the field of Old Testament ethics. He - along with his wife, Liz, and four children - had five years teaching in India, before taking up a post at All Nations Christian College in Hertfordshire where he was eventually appointed principal.
In September 2001 Chris moved to his present role as International Ministries Director of the Langham Partnership International. In this, he is continuing and developing the work of his predecessor, John Stott, who founded the LPI.
Chris is one of the foremost theologians of our day, and has a passion to bring to life the relevance of the Old Testament to Christian mission and ethics for our day to day lives. He has written several books along those lines. Most recently, his latest book, 'The Mission Of God' has been hailed as a hugely significant work.
Two parts to the day
In the afternoon, from 2:30pm-4:00pm, there will be a chance to hear Chris share about this new book, 'The Mission Of God'. Come and learn from him, dialogue with him and throw questions at him! This event is FREE to attend and is being held at the AECC.
Then in the evening, Chris will speak at our Souled Out event. Together with the guys from the Langham Partnership, we plan to offer some fresh ways to engage with the theme: Church growth - more than just numbers?
As with all our events, we will spend time in sung worship, which will be led by the Souled Out Band. This event is FREE to attend, with an offering being taken to help cover costs.
We hope to see you there!
