Travel & parking advice for tonights event

As you can see HERE, due to the Aberdeen Students' Charities Torcher Parade, there are some road closures tonight which will affect travel and parking options for our event at the Music Hall.

Between 5:00pm and 11:00pm a number of roads will be closed. This will result in no access to Golden Square, Chapel Street mutli-storey car park or any streets around to the North of Union Street i.e. Rosemount side. Harriet and Loch Street car parks also fall within the no-go area.

Remember that there are many places where you can still park as long as you are inside the area before 5:00pm, but you cannot leave the area until 11pm.

Alternative car parks which are unaffected (but may be busier) are at:
- Union Square
- South College Street multi storey (less than 5 mins walk to the Music Hall)
- Denburn car park
- any of the streest SOUTH of Union Street i.e. Ferryhill / Hardgate side.

Usual on street parking rules apply.

No Park & Ride facilities have been laid on but normal bus services will be running with alternative routing once at the affected area.

It sounds worse than it is - just please allow extra time to get where you want to be because of reduced road volume so extra traffic on remaining routes.

Better still (if you can manage), get yourself in town before 5pm, treat yourself to a meal out, be blessed by Terry Virgo at the Music Hall then - as the Church spills out into the midst of the city centre celebrations - plan to share out the blessing that you have just received until you can get your car out.

Sound like a plan?!
