We are excited to update you on two events coming up this month and announce that tickets are now available for Glorious 2013!

Souled Out - Glorious

Informal Info Evening - 11 March 2013

If you haven't already seen or heard there is going to be a conference for women on 4-5 October 2013 at the AECC. This event will bring women from across the North East together to learn more about who they are in Christ, grow in their relationship with God and go back to their church and community refreshed and excited about sharing Jesus. 
 
If you would like more information on how you or your church can be involved in this event, then please come to the informal information evening on Monday 11 March at 7:30pm in The Credo Centre, John Street, Aberdeen (click here for location information).  We will be sharing the vision behind the conference and guiding you in how you can be involved and how to promote the conference in your own church and community.

Souled Out - Connect
Are you new to Aberdeen and keen to meet like-minded Christians to build community with? Or have you lived in Aberdeen forever and want to meet new people? Come along to CONNECT!! Our first event will be on Thursday 21 March from 7 - 10pm at Starbucks, Upperkirkgate, Aberdeen, AB10 1BA.

There will be live music from Bekah and Aileen, a quiz and plenty of coffee and cakes. 
 
Our cafe-style event is aimed at single adult Christians; meeting together for fellowship, making connections, getting involved in activities, chatting and getting to know each other.

Souled Out has been running worship and teaching events in Aberdeen since early 2004, with the last event happening in late 2010. After a break, we are delighted to be back with exciting new plans and vision for the future!

To begin with, not much happened after Souled Out made the decision to “press pause” - having sensed a prompt from God to take some time out to listen to what God was saying - but over recent months there have been some exciting stirrings. The Souled Out Team heard from various groups who were keen to run again with a shared passion and heart for worship and unity through city and region wide events. The Souled Out 'machinery' had been kept in place waiting and hoping for this new vision to arrive.

So, in 2013 Souled Out is back - but not as you knew it. Instead of each event intending to bring together the broadest spectrum of the church, we are returning with a programme of more specific events.
 
Souled Out: Connect
This is a regular cafe-style event primarily aimed at single adults, offering an opportunity to connect with Christians from across the region, to share fellowship, to get to know each other, encouraging one another in the faith. These events will be relaxed and easy with a fun and conversational style to them.

The first event will be on 21st March 2013 from 7pm to 10 pm at Starbucks on Schoolhill. To find out more, click here.
 
Souled Out: Glorious
This aspect of Souled Out is for women only! In 2013, this will take the form of a conference for woman taking place on 4-5 October 2013 at the AECC. It will give time and space for woman to get to know better who they are in Christ, to grow in their relationship with God and with other Christian women in the North East and to go back into their church and community refreshed and excited about sharing Jesus. An informal information evening for Souled Out Glorious will be taking place on 11 March in the upstairs of the Credo Centre, John Street, Aberdeen at 7:30pm. The team would love it if a representative from your church was able to come along to hear them share the vision behind this conference and give you some resources to share with the women in your church. Please rsvp to glorious@souledout.org.uk if you will have someone coming from your church.

Other events...
In the not-too-distant future we expect to share news about an exciting new youth event. And we'll see how God guides regarding other potential opportunities into the future.

What about ENCOUNTER?
The Souled Out Team are also excited about the possibility of re-launching the Encounter weekend at some point - to offer an opportunity to again gather together as Christ’s Church here in the North-East – all ages, denominations and backgrounds.

Compassion logoArtwork Auction
Souled Out was glad to partner with Compassion UK for this event.  While you may have seen their stand throughout the weekend, if you missed the Sunday evening event, you will be unaware of the special focus that we had on the work of Compassion.

As part of his message, Chris Seay, re-introduced us to the wonderful work that Compassion does, showing a powerful video clip and also leading us into a time of prayer and response.

We're glad to let you know that - as a result of that Sunday evening - just under 100 children were sponsored!  As you can see from the above video, this will make a radical difference in these childrens' lives both now and, we pray, into the future.

But you can help do more...and get some beautiful artwork in the process!

Mike Samson very generously offered to auction off the piece of art which he produced over the three evenings of ENCOUNTER2010 and to give all the proceeds to Compassion UK.

You'll only need to take one look at Mike's CV to realise that this is an exciting opportunity to get your hands on a wonderful piece of art.  To give some context, the last piece that Mike sold, went for £2,500.  So we're hoping that we can make a generous donation to Compassion.

Information on the piece...

The painting is based on a traditional altarpiece; the exterior of the doors depict an image of the River Don at Donmouth where the waters are calm and the interior composition is the view from the shore at Donmouth looking out to sea.

The piece measures 1m x 1m when closed and 2m x 1m when opened.


The inspiration for the piece was taken from a quote by Oswald Chambers in 'My Utmost for His highest' - "...we must get out of the calm waters and into the swelling tide of God's purpose for our lives" and also from Paul's exhortation in Philippians to forget that which is behind and strive on to that which God has called us heavenward for.

The calm waters are a place of peace where we experience God's blessing but we can't spend all our time there. Getting out into the "swelling tide" is not always the most comfortable place to be but it is the place where God intends that we find wholeness and purpose.

The auction is now closed.  The winning bid was a fantastic £3,200!

If you would like to submit a bid for this painting, please EMAIL US with details of your bid.  Once received and processed, the website will be updated to show the current highest bid. (note, this will not happen immediately - it may take up to 24 hours.)

Bids can be accepted from throughout the UK - the piece will be shipped to whatever address you provide.

We will accept bids up until 6pm on Friday 18th February.

It will start in the Crombie A room (stewards will show you the way) at 5:00pm.  This will leave time for you to grab some food (at the AECC itself, or the nearby McDonalds!) before the Sunday evening session at 6:30pm.
